Message from the Academic Dean

It is with great joy that I congratulate this

6th graduating cohort.

This group of men and women from varied professional

backgrounds have had to overcome many obstacles in

this current time which is full of turbulence, volatility,
and rapid change. They have embraced new ways of learning

and connecting to acquire a skill that is needed by corporate
and business leaders now more than ever.

Coaching is an emerging field in Africa with only about 2% of the total number of

certified coaches. Most of the coaches are concentrated in 3 countries: South

Africa, Egypt and Kenya. For this reason, I am particularly excited that through our

partnership with Invest in Africa and supported by MasterCard we are moving the

population of certified coaches in Ghana from 6 to 14; in Mauritania from 0-1 and

in Senegal from 4 to 11.

As more and more leaders and organizations look to coaching as the most

effective intervention to pivot their businesses and careers, you will play a key role

in setting the standards of the coaching profession in Africa. You are the

trailblazers who hold the responsibility of charting the path for other coaches that

will come after you. I have no doubt you will be a source of pride for The

Coaching Hub.
