Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce 2017 Annual Report
To our Members,
The Chamber had another year of big change in 2017 as we work to become a more member
focused Chamber of Commerce. We successfully transitioned the management of Springfest to the
Downtown Network Heber Springs and the World Championship Cardboard Boat Races to Scouting
Adventures in Leadership. This is an exciting change for these festivals as both organizations plan
to infuse new ideas and greater resources to make them bigger and better than ever.
As a result of that change, we surveyed our Chamber Membership asking what new programs we
could add to help grow our members’ businesses. The four things our members ask for are 1)
promote relocation to recruit new residents, 2) launch a shop/live local campaign, 3) support
workforce development and 4) serve as an information resource for government affairs. The
Chamber Board of Directors approved all four as part of our immediate and long term strategy.
Our members also asked for networking and educational opportunities. In response, the Chamber
will be hosting regular networking events, The Chamber Morning Brew and The Chamber Member
Mingle, throughout the year. In addition, we plan to host at least two Lunch and Learn educational
events on topics that impact our local businesses and organizations.
We are excited to offer these new services to our members along with our existing program of work
described in this report.
Thank you for your membership and support of the chamber and the Heber Springs Community.
Sincerely,
The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce Team and Board of Directors
