The Little Red River begins it journey from the base of the massive
Greers Ferry Dam emerging with 42 to 54 degree temperatures with tail-
water extending 32 miles, making it one of Arkansas’ most popular fishing
destinations. Its icy cold waters make it a world-class trout stream and a
haven for fishing enthusiasts, campers, sightseers, hikers, picnicking and
those that enjoy the thrill of kayaking and canoeing. “LIL RED” is home
to rainbow, brook, cutthroat and brown trout and held the world record
catch for brown trout weighing at 40 lbs. 4 oz. which stood until 2009
when it was surpassed.

Along the river, resorts, marinas and outfitters offer professional guide
service, boat rentals, overnight accommodations and more. Attractions
near Greers Ferry Dam include William Carl Garner Visitor Center, John
F. Kennedy Overlook, Greers Ferry National Fish Hatchery, Collins Creek
and one of the top Disc Golf Courses in the state.
