Hiking Trails in the Area
          •   Th  e Mossy Bluff  & Buckeye Trails are accessed behind the William Carl Garner Visitors Center near the dam

              on Highway 25 North.  Th  e looped trail meanders approximately 1.8 miles on a wooded bluff  overlooking
              Greers Ferry Dam, Little Red River and Greers Ferry National Fish Hatchery.  Th  e trail ends as you approach
              the 94 steps to the Overlook to witness a spectacular view of the river area.  Th  e popular Mossy Bluff  Disc
              Golf Course is considered one of the best courses in the state.

          •   Collins Creek Trail-Th  e Collins Creek area, located off  of Highway 25 on Hatchery Road just past Greers
              Ferry Dam, is one of the most popular family spots in the area.  A trail head sign on Hatchery Road indicates
              a parking area which is located only 100 yards from Collins Creek.  Th  e nature/hiking trail hosts many fea-
              tures: waterfalls, playground, small pools of water perfect for children to try their hand at fi shing, and is just

              right for wading.
          •   Th  e Josh Park Memorial Trail is located in Dam Site Park on scenic Greers Ferry Lake just off  of Highway
              25B North.  Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the trail off ers a large array of experiences for
              a wide variety of people.  Th  e trail is used by campers in Dam Site Park, as well as hikers, walkers, runners,

              bicyclists, and nature enthusiasts alike.
          •   Summit Trail is .66 miles round trip and leads to the base of the summit.  Th  is trail is the most diffi  cult to
              negotiate because it is steep and slippery.  Th  ere are rest areas along the way.
          •   Tonawanda Base Train is 1.3 miles around the base of the mountain.  It is of moderate diffi  culty and occas-

              sional uneven footing.  Benches have been installed along the way.
          •   Hidden Pond Trail is relatively fl at and paved, and an easy .25 miles, with good footing.  Th  ere is also a 90
              foot wooden bridge with seating along the way and picnic table near the pond.  Th  is trail is handicap acces-
              sible.

          •   Wildlife Trail is 1 mile in the bottom area west of Sugarloaf Mountain.  Th  is trail will join the proposed 9
              mile Sulphur Creek Trail heading west into Heber Springs.  Sulphur Creek Trail is a project of Greers Ferry
              Lake Trails Council and the City of Heber Springs.



                                Dogs are allowed to use all hiking trails, but must be kept on a leash.
