Then, Gabriel showed the Prophet the guardian Angel of the mountain.
The Angel said to him, “Dear Rasulullah, we are ready to do your
command. If you wish we could make all mountains that surround
Thaif collided with each other causing all the people to die, or do you
wish to punish them the other way? Whatever you need, your wish is
our command.
The angel’s offer was so tempting, wasn’t it an opportunity for a
revenge? Yet, Prophet Muhammad SAW was not that kind of person.
He was patient and full of compassion. He rejected the offer and said,
“Even though they rejected Islam, I go with what Allah wishes. One
day, their generation will worship and praise Allah.”
On that day, Thaif was not destroyed. On the permission of Allah SWT,
the people of Thaif finally embrace Islam, even before the day Prophet
Muhammad SAW death.
Moral of The Story
Even tough Prophet Muhammad SAW was insulted and treated badly
by the people of Thaif, he didn’t want to do the same. Patiently, he faced
everything. Hopefully, you can followed Prophet Muhammad SAW’s
good attitude.
