Friendly

Prophet Muhammad SAW had a friend whose name was Zahir. He was
a Badui slave. Zahir wasn’t good looking and came from the country
side. He used to spend his days alone in the desert. Despite Zahir’s ugly
appearance, Prophet Muhammad SAW loved him very much. He loved
him as much as he loved his other companions. Zahir was a good-
hearted man. He often brought Prophet Muhammad SAW some goods.

One day, Prophet Muhammad SAW Zahir was selling some goods in
the market. Zahir was so busy offering his goods so that he didn’t
realize the Prophet arrival. Prophet Muhammad SAW was a friendly
person. He was friendly to everyone including to Zahir. Then, from
behind the Prophet put his arm around Zahir’s shoulder. Zahir was
surprised. Because he couldn’t see the person behind him, Zahir
claimed, “Hi, who is this? Let me go!”

Prophet Muhammad SAW didn’t reply because he wanted to tease
Zahir. Zahir turned his head and saw that the man who embraced him
from behind was Prophet Muhammad SAW. He smiled happily.
Because of the friendly embrace he got from the Prophet whom he
respected.

Then, the teasing tone the Prophet said to the people around him.
“Now, who want to buy this slave?”

Zahir smiled when he heard that, and so did the people around him.
Then, Zahir said, “Dear Rasulullah, you can see that I’m ugly. Nobody
wants to buy an ugly slave like me. Even for low price.”

When he heard what Zahir just said, Prophet Muhammad SAW replied
him smiling. “Dear Zahir, indeed next to Allah you are a precious
person.”

Zahir was surprised to hear the Prophet’s words. His face was glowing.
He loved the Prophet Muhammad SAW and Allah SWT even more.

Moral of The Story:
Prophet Muhammad SAW give us an example to be friendly to anyone.
Because of his ugly face, Zahir didn’t have any self-confidence. He even
like to spend his time alone.
