Animal in You: Commissions Participant Examples: Paintings

nimal in You is a series of commissions inspired by Rorschach’s inkblots, Jung and indeed Freud. From the U.S.A to
Sweden these pieces have found homes in private collections all over the world. It’s been a huge pleasure to work with
Aand video chat to participants, get a peek into their lives and look at their blots with them. Together we studied their
unique interpretation of the blot and had fun coming up with ideas before bringing the inkblots to life with layers of oil paint.

any participants have commented on the meaning and value they have gotten from the process as well as the animal
archetypal wisdom within their inkblots. I looked into animal symbolism and participants received a light hearted
M“reading” according to the animals they saw. Most of the readings come from a great book on animal spirit guides
by Steven Farmer (the name says it all right?!).

tudying your inkblot and noting what you see, is the first step in the commission process. Then we have a conversation
about what you discovered and come up with a plan for your painting. I usually create a Digital Collage first, to have some-
Sthing to show you before I start painting so you know what to expect. Sometimes these Digital Collages become artworks
and limited edition prints (you can have a look on my website to see the Digital Collages). It’s such a unique, creative experience,
