      Simple past tense is a sentence used to tell events that happened in
      the past and finished or ended in the past.


       The Characteristics of the Simple Past Tense



      1. Simple past tense always uses verb 2 of regular verbs or irregular
      verbs to indicate that the activity occurred in the past.
      2. There is the use of "was" for singular pronouns namely I, he, she, it
      and "were" for plural pronouns such as we, you, they as to be past
      tense.
      3. Has a description of the time that explains the past such as last
      night, yesterday, two weeks ago, three days ago, and last month.


       The Form of Simple Past Tense


      The simple past tense sentence pattern is divided into 2 formulas:



             1. With A Verb (Verbal)



                                          We worked together on a
         +     Subject + verb2 + object
                                          project last year.


                                          We did not work together on
         -     Subject + did + not + verb1
                                          a project last year.


                                          Did we work together on a
         ?     Did + subject + verb1
                                          project last year?
