Message from the Head of School
This is an exciting year in the history of Neuchâtel Junior College. On September 1, 1956, Leonard Wilde, the first Head of School, was about to welcome 40 students from Canada to a school which had not previously existed. On September 1, 2015, we welcomed the 60th class of students to our beautiful campus. Our Conseil de fondation (Swiss Board) and our Canadian Advisory Committee, in conjunction with our Alumni Association, are working diligently to organize two very special events, one in Neuchâtel and one in Toronto, to mark this anniversary and celebrate 60 years of our extraordinary school and its 60 graduating classes.
Le Stade de la Maladière will host the first celebration in the Centre Facchinetti on Friday, May 27, 2016. Our students from the Class of 2016, their teachers and staff, pension families, special guests and alumni in Europe will all be invited to partake in the evening’s festivities. I am hopeful that those alumni residing in Europe will make every effort to come back to Neuchâtel to join us for this special event.
Five months later, on October 15, 2016, we will enjoy another celebration of our 60th anniversary, this time in Toronto. We expect this event to be even bigger and better than our 40th and 50th anniversary celebrations. You will find more information regarding this year’s gala evening in this magazine, with more news to follow as the exciting plans unfold. Please take note of the date and reserve it in your calendar.
If you would like to offer assistance of any kind in support of our celebrations, please contact our staff in the Canadian Office. I look forward to celebrating this special anniversary with as many of you as possible!
