THE GEORGIAN PEAKS FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT 2019
On behalf of the Peaks Foundation, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all those who participated or supported this year’s Georgian Peaks Golf Tournament on Saturday September 29th. The event was a huge success as everyone enjoyed the scramble format. Mother Nature wasn’t as kind to us this year as in the previous couple of years but all who participated enjoyed the fun and camaraderie on the course and a lovely dinner back at the Peaks.
The event raised over $15K for the Foundation and would not be possible without the generous support of our golfers, sponsors, dinner guests and our athlete volunteers.
Mark your calendar for next year’s tournament. It is always held the last Saturday in September and next year’s tournament will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020.

Ihope everyone had a great summer and kept active with fun outdoor activities. Much like me, I am sure you are excited and ready for our winter activities to begin,
especially those on snow.
Over the summer, the Alpine Management Team looked at ways to improve our Alpine Programs. We looked at Member feedback and discussed ways to make programs more enjoyable and exciting. We recognize that it is important that our program offerings are balanced and provide choices that all Members can enjoy during the winter months. Just because we want to create new and better options, it does not mean we take our foot off the gas. We will always work hard to continue to raise the bar.
New Programs & Announcements
In Adult programs, we will be offering more varied terrain for hill space and a new program called “Beyond the Gates”. This program will focus on improving skiing through drills, video and technical feedback with amazing Coaches Martha Lee and Dave Bader. This program will be in addition to the new Adult House League gate training and the ever popular recreational and Learn to Race programs. With the additional hill space and new programing, Adults will have plenty of options for the upcoming winter.
Within our SOD program (U12 to U18), we will continue to expand communication and parent education around the number of days athletes have access to hill space. The ratio of free skiing days versus the number of days in gates is a key piece in skier development that all relates back to the LTAD. If we use the proper ratio, most athletes will see bigger improvements in technical skiing skills as throwing athletes in the gates without the proper tools creates bad habits and frustration.

In freestyle skiing, snowboard and youth programs we are increasing our presence and will continue to showcase our 27
