SAFETY NOTICES
To All Georgian Peaks Club Members, Guests and Staff using ski lifts
Please ensure that all loose articles of clothing are secured in such a way as to not get caught in any part of the ski lift. Lift Attendants have been instructed not to allow any passengers to embark on lift facilities if the passenger is found to have loose or dangling clothing or equipment such as...
• Scarves
• Suspenders
• Glove or mitten strings • Goggles
• Leashes
• Backpacks
This is a partial list. Please obey this requirement and al- ways use care and attentiveness when riding our lifts.
Small children wearing goggles on their helmets should be instructed to ensure their goggles are on their helmet securely at all times and not dangling from the back.
Thank-you for your co-operation.
WINCH SAFETY NOTICE
Please be advised that snowshoeing and hiking on trails after regular operating hours can be very dangerous and is not permitted.
Snowmaking/grooming operations are dangerous and must be given adequate room to operate. Conditions vary and the Equipment Operators’ visibility can be limited.
Winch grooming operations are of particular danger. The winch cable can be buried under the snow and it will not be visible. The cable will also “whip” and can cause ser- ious injury, dismemberment or death.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE BE ON TRAILS THAT ARE BEING WINCHED.
Winch operations could and will occur on any trails, not just the steeps. A ashing blue light at the winch anchor point and on the winch cat indicates that winching is in progress.
Your co-operation and understanding is appreciated.
