Page 5 - End of an Era During Covid-19
P. 5
Welcome
This book is about how my life changed being quarantined my
last quarter at DePaul University because of Covid-19. I found out
during finals week winter quarter that my last quarter at DePaul
was going to change. I decided to document my experience being
quarantined through photography and writing a few journal entries
to express my feelings and experience though it all. Before this all
went down, I was living in a two-bedroom apartment in Lakeview,
going to classes and to work in person. Now, I am living at my par-
ents’ house in the suburbs and doing everything from my laptop in
my bedroom.
This book is divided into three sections. The first section being The
Panic and Hope. When the world began to realize how serious
Coronavirus was there was a lot of panic. Stores were running out
of food and toilet paper. We needed stay in our homes and if we
did have to leave you need a mask and had to stay 6 feet away from
everyone. Even though there was mass panic all over the world
there was also so much hope. People were putting up hearts on their
windows, writing in chalk on their driveways, and much more to
inspire hope across the country. The second section, Enjoying the
Little Things, is about how I started find joy in new things. I took
more walks and noticed all the flowers beginning to bloom in the
spring. I also had better meals and more quality family time. The
last section of this book, The Loss, displays my personal loss. I had a
lot planned for my last quarter senior year. I was supposed to have
my last formal, walk at graduation and much more. However, being
quarantined meant none of that could happen. So, I made the best of
it by having activities at home and documented it in this book.
Hope you enjoy and learn a little something!
