Objective: A combination of one of the best gaming platform
(UNITY) and dynamic tactical feedback for providing an immersive
gaming experience and enhance the interest in any audio feedback.
The game is programmed in Unity Engine and the audio feedback is
converted into haptic via vibrator motors. The interface used is
acquired through Arduino IDE and vibrator motors embedded in a
typical vest. The vest provides variations of tactile attacks on the
person’s body while mapping the damage on the FPS player in the
game. The variations are changed with respect to the magnitude of
the impact experienced by the dummy in the game. The usage of
“mono behaviour” and Arduino serial communication is supported
by the inbuilt Unity functions. The unity sends a trigger to the
Arduino port and the Arduino generates a specific pattern
according to the received command. This project was made in
contradiction of 'Kor Fx', a gaming vest with transducers for bass
effect and gravity effect. Kor fx cannot map a position or a
particular feedback point and gives the gravity effect on the whole
body. But the Haptic Vest aims towards targeting a particular
section of the body with adjustable tactile magnitudes.
