Shortly after submission the invention disclosure will be assessed. This Mass General Brigham
structured evaluation looks at the IP approach, prior art, competitive
advantages, market potential, commercialization strategy including
potential partners, next steps in development, investment requirements,
speed to market and advancement plans.
In the case of digital technologies, additional platform and timing
questions are evaluated including the potential commercial path and
what requires further enhancement or validation prior to
active commercialization.
Technologies not pursued by Innovation fall under a process where the
inventor can obtain the right to pursue the patent on his or her own.
