PROPERTIES
GEOTAN PB 54 is a resinous Retanning agent characterized by
excellent results of grain tightness and filling. GEOTAN PB 54 reacts
notably well with the collagen, that is found in the entire structure of
the leather. This chain reaction of acrylate-chrome-fiber occurs even
in the regions of less fibers concentration (belly and flanks). GEOTAN
PB 54 can be used in all Retanning steps, whether together with
chrome salts, before or after neutralization, and for a better fixation
of tannins, after Retanning. Whenever used together with chrome, it
enables a good exhaustion, producing full leathers with very fine
grain and small pores. Due to its chemical composition, it does not
change the chrome tanned leathers' softness.
