Progress !!
“We found the
Pontiac with one
side of the timber
tray intact. A visit
to a salvage yard
in Nambour
resulted in finding
some suitably sized
timber to build
the other side, however, the task now is
to make it look like a 'barn find'.
Deb is brewing copious amounts of
strong tea and making iron acetate
from steel wool and vinegar to paint
on the wood to work on the tannins to
'age' it. Let's see how we go!!! The
second door is hung but we need to
work on latching it. Goodness.... how
many visits to Bunnings does one
Pontiac take?????”

latest update
Debbie Newton and Mick Freestone
have been working on the ‘barn find’
project and following the progress
has been interesting for us all.
First we saw the newly renovated
steering wheel with work contributed
to the project by John Mac.
Now we have doors and side panels.
Hold your breath for our next
instalment.
