1 OCTOBER 2022
PRESIDENT’S REPORT Hello Roadrunners
Another year has passed – the Club continues to grow and has a full calendar of wonderful events organised which are usually very well supported.
We have just concluded the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive 2022 in support of Men’s Health through ‘Movember’. We have at this point raised $15,239.00, with donations still open until mid-October. I am hopeful we might give $20,000 a nudge and that would be fantastic.
I would like to thank all of the participants, the hard-working helpers, also Frank and Joan Carroll for hosting us for a very informative tour at their amazing Sir Henry Royce Foundation Museum and providing us with a delicious lunch prepared by Joan.
Your Committee is now focused on the ‘Noosa Charity Car Show’ on 2nd October which supports Katie Rose Cottage Hospice.
Whilst we get to do what we love doing, enjoying our cars and the companionship of fellow members and other car enthusiasts, we should be proud that we have created the opportunity for charities such as Katie Rose Cottage Hospice and ‘Movember’ to receive the significant funds raised.
We truly appreciate the support of all members who ensure the success of these events.
Annual General Meeting : 6th November 2022
We are now approaching our AGM where all Management Committee positions will be declared vacant and new nominations (and elections if needed) will take place – this provides you, the members, the opportunity to participate in guiding the future of the Club.
This year we have two especially important positions to fill, being the President and Vice President.
I have decided that after 4 years, I will not renominate for President and hope that someone else will assume the role and guide the Club into the future. I believe it is important that the Club has renewal, and that the President should ideally only serve for a maximum four years.
The Club is in great shape with all systems and procedures in place and working well, so the task for an incoming President should be straight forward and I will happily offer whatever support they need.
The President and Vice President roles description can be downloaded by clicking the following links on our Website:

Vice President’s Role Description :
I would also like to ensure that in future the Vice President is elected on the understanding that they will take over from an outgoing President when the time comes. This would ensure a smooth and seamless transition, with clear understanding of the operation of the Club and Committee, the outgoing President would also be there to support the new President.
Management Committee Positions President : Vacant – Graeme Block not renominating Vice President : Vacant – Graeme Adams
not renominating
Secretary : Vacant – Judy Bickley to renominate Treasurer : Vacant – John Hewitt to renominate
All other Management Appointed Positions are ongoing except Judy Bickley who wishes to step down as Social Secretary. However if a member wishes to nominate for one of these positions, or as assistant, they are welcome to do so.
I am happy to continue as Webmaster with Myra Doyle learning the Website with a view to taking over when she is comfortable – this makes a lot of sense as there are many synergies between the Magazine and the Website.
I would encourage all members to seriously consider getting involved and nominating for a position, only with renewal and fresh ideas will the Club will continue to prosper.
Nominations must be received by the Secretary no later than 14 days prior to the AGM. Nomination forms are available on the Club website and a list of all nominees will be displayed there, following the deadline.
There is more detailed information about the AGM on page 2 and full and comprehensive information on the RCC Website.
