Lots of chatting
The Barn is perched on the tops
overlooking the Sunshine Coast so it
was a truly spectacular drive on a
beautiful sunny morning.
A satisfying gathering of 40 members
came along – our combined coffee
mornings always well received.
The Barn has an excellent supply of
delicious cakes, pastries or brekkie if
needed [and a good lunch menu too!].
Afterwards a browse around the diverse
artifacts and fresh produce alongside
tasty preserves and pickles stretched
the legs before continuing the delightful
drive – this time down the ranges.
During the chattering and our reviving
cuppas we were pleased to welcome
two ladies from Katie Rose Cottage
Hospice. Acting CEO Carol Raye [also
a club member] and head nurse Sarah.
They spoke about the wonderful work
that KRCH does not only for their
terminal patients but also for the
families supporting them in their final
days. The concept and history of the
organisation was covered and also
future plans to expand their premises,
bed capacity and also a move into
outside support for those not yet quite
ready for their final care.
These ladies and their staff do a
remarkable job and we are proud to
support them as our RCC major charity.
