Retiring President Roger Weeks’ AGM Welcome Address
Hello everyone and welcome to the Road Runners Annual General Meeting. It’s great to see so many members in attendance today.
As the outgoing president of the Car Club, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the management committee for their hard work and dedication in organising and managing the club. Our success would not have been possible without their tireless efforts, creativity, and commitment.
I have found being President for the past months, very rewarding, and I am very pleased to have had the support of such a great management team, who have all worked very hard to get the club to where it is today, they are all doing an exceptional job in their specific roles. I want to thank the entire committee for your help and support since I took the position of President, it has been most appreciated.
I also want to thank all of our members, who have shown a true passion for cars and a commitment to making our club the best it can be. We have had an exciting year – full of events, gatherings, and road trips. Our community has grown, and we have welcomed many new members.
Preparations are well underway for our big events coming up, Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive and Noosa Charity Car Show. I would encourage anyone who can lend a hand at these events to contact John McGovern if you are interested in being support crew for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive or contact Graeme Adams if you can lend a hand at the Noosa Charity Car Show.
Thank you again for the privilege of serving as your President for the past year. It has truly been an honour to lead this wonderful organisation.
