    What a great weekend it’s going to be! Take in the Autumn Historic Race Meet at Morgan Park and do some sightseeing and retail therapy, good company, good food and good wine!!!!!
Well three out of six aint’ bad!!! Good company, food and wine.....yes – but racing??? .....was not to be.
Should have known something... we set off on Friday 13th with the weather forecast looking bleak. We all met at the Forest Glen servo to assess the situation. By this stage Warwick was looking very much like it was ‘going under’ and hovercraft may be the vehicle of necessity. Over coffee it was decided to head down to the Gold Coast. Graeme Block quickly managed to find us a couple of apartments at Broadbeach for the night and then we would re-assess again in the morning.
Off we went, in the rain, stopping at ‘Expresso Twenty5’ at Coomera for lunch. This is the site of the Tony Longhurst Museum and would be the only place over the course of the weekend that we would be able to mingle amongst classic cars! This location is also the home of The Boat Works. We had to hurry a few of the blokes along before there was a very expensive ‘tinnie’ hitched to the tow bar!!!
We had two lovely apartments with ocean views (when you could see it through the rain). Pre-dinner drinks in the room and off to dinner at a Bavarian Restaurant after which we weighed a couple of kilos heavier.
Over breakfast we discussed our next ‘plan’. By now, Warwick was out of the question, the race meet had been cancelled, all roads in were flooded and the town was
