Special Club Member ROSIE the PTST dog
Always alongside club member Roger Weeks is his ‘assistant dog’ the lovely Rosie.
Rosie is herself a ‘rescue dog’ and she has been trained to ‘help’ and assist PTSD sufferers.
You often find Roger and Rosie at Club functions and activities – no doubt Rosie was the quietest member at our Christmas Party – how many of you actually spotted here there ?
While ‘on duty’ Rosie wears her special harness and must not be patted or petted so please respect this when you are with them.
We printed Roger’s story early last year but it is repeated here as it will surely be of interest to new members: you will find it on page 15.

PTSD Dogs Australia is a local registered charity founded by Roger and Angie Weeks and based in the hinterland behind Cooroy.
The dogs are rescued from shelters and pounds and trained to become highly-skilled assistance dogs – they are then placed, at no cost, with veterans and first responders suffering from PTSD as a result of their service to the community.
This worthy cause has been getting quite a lot of attention from local media recently. It costs approx $40,000 per dog to fully train, house and maintain and recently PTSD were awarded a share in the Australian Government’s Volunteer Grants Programme.
Roadrunner CC would also like to support this very special and commendable charity and we will donate proceeds raised from various activities during the year.
