PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Hello Roadrunners
Firstly, a warm welcome to our new members and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events. Please use the Club website as your primary source of information and I trust you will enjoy getting involved and don’t hesitate to speak to myself or any of the committee if there is anything you want help with.
Whilst charity fundraising is not our primary goal as a Club, we have taken the view that, where we can provide the opportunity for a worthy cause to benefit from our normal activities, we should do so and this is proving to be very successful, with a cumulative amount raised across two events of over $26,000.00.
Noosa Charity Car Show
The event on the 3rd October 2021 was a fantastic success, with perfect weather, a large number of beautiful cars on display and increased number of spectators thanks to the long weekend.
I can also report that the event raised more than $12,000 for Katie Rose Cottage Hospice, a fantastic result that we can all be proud of.
Distinguished Gentlemen’s Drive
The Distinguished Gentlemens’ Drive was also a very successful event with approx. 50 cars involved and many of the entrants got in the spirit by dressing very Dapper.
Whilst the fundraising tally is just over $14,000 at the present this [fundraising] continues until the end of October.
Regardless, this is a very good result and will contribute to mens’ health via ‘Movember’.
New Zealand Trip February 2022
This event was postponed from 2021 due to COVID restrictions but is looking positive for 2022 in relation to COVID and travel restrictions here and in New Zealand.
It’s a very exciting trip, where we plan to attend the Art Deco Festival in Napier and the Americarna Festival in New Plymouth with lots of sightseeing in between events.
We have all accommodation booked for 30 people and have approx. 10 spaces left for anyone who would like to join us.
Shortly we will be required confirm numbers and to pay the balance of the accommodation and look at booking flights.
Anyone interested in joining us please contact Graeme Block 0412513241
Full details are available on the Club website and more information on page 7.
Upcoming Events
We have agreed to support the Tewantin 150th Year Proclamation Celebrations with a car display and to support the Christmas Pageant which is an evening run from Buderim to Noosa which raises money for local ‘Children in Need’.
