Jaguar milestones in 2021

This year 2021 marks 3 significant milestones for the Jaguar Car Company.
The iconic E Type sports car, the Luxury MK 10 saloon and the quirky X Type compact Saloon.
Some background to my interest in the X Type: In 2003 Joan and I sold our Autobarn Franchise in Nambour and retired. We bought a new X Type Jaguar 2.1 L V6 front wheel drive and kept it for 10 years. My only complaint was it did not have much power.
Also in the model line was a 2.5 L V6 and a 3 L V6 – both being all-wheel drive.
On the sale of our 1964 Daimler we purchased a 2005 3 L V6 AWD automatic Jaguar which had only travelled 75,000 Km. We are only the third owners.
Now to the development of the X Type. This report is sourced in part from the Jaguar Heritage Trust and my own research.
After a period of great expectation Jaguar released details of the X Type on 1st November 2000. The new car was released to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2001. It is known in ‘Jaguar speak’ as
