THANKS TO OUR MEMBERS & FRIENDS WHO BROUGHT OUT THEIR VEHICLES FOR DISPLAY
One particular thing that exhibitors and visitors comment upon is our seemingly random layout of the vehicles. Of course it is carefully planned so that the entrants in various categories are placed together, but the overall effect is pleasing to the eye and ensures that there is plenty of room to walk around each vehicle without any chance of a mishap – perish the thought of a casual scratch on expensive and deep shining paintwork!
Certainly the overall effect looks like a SHOW and not a tightly knit municipal car park.
We are also blessed with the riverside location providing a marvellous visual back-drop and on such a hot sunny day, a welcoming breeze from the Noosa River.
Roaming around it was obvious that the vehicles spanned almost 100 years of motoring and the loving TLC lavished upon cars, utes, motorbikes and quirky vehicles is very clear. Unlike some other shows, our owners also enjoy lingering beside them to chat to the enthusiastic public of all ages. Delightful to see families with small children who are interested too. Moments before I snapped him, the little chap pictured had his head well over the grill and into the engine bay, feet barely touching the ground – definitely a mechanic in the making!
All too soon, the judges are done, the prizes presented, congratulations conferred and slapping on the backs morphs into revving engines, goodbyes and departures. Willing hands strip the Park of tents, signs and litter – the grass is bare and clean, but we will be back next year to do it all again for sure.
Roll on next year... Myra Doyle : Editor
