Next step was to mark out the finger jointing from the template and cut and file the new finger joints with a nice new fine hacksaw blade. pic 4
Now the new pieces were glued in place leaving excess timber on the inside and outside to dress to the shape of the original steering wheel, finger notches etc. pic 5
After lots of shaping, filing, sanding, more filing, more shaping and lots of expletives, this is the finished item. pic 6
