SUNDAY 10th OCTOBER
Roadrunner car club AGM
We had 53 enthusiastic members at the
meeting, many coming in early to grab a
coffee before proceedings started.
President Ken McGregor opened the
meeting by welcoming everyone to the
meeting.
The Officers of the Club gave their annual
reports, followed by the various Sub-
Committees. We had been warned to keep
the reports as short as possible and I think
everyone was within the ‘3 minute max’ !!!
Where appropriate a screen shot illustrating
the various topics were shown behind the
speakers. All reports were well received
and accepted by the Members. The final
report was for the Car Show and when
concluded the donation cheque was
presented to a representative of Katie Rose
Cottage Hospice. In the absence of Carol
Raye, Acting CEO, Carol’s husband John
did the honours. Photo on page 5.
At this seemingly appropriate break in the
business, the President presented outgoing
Treasurer and Secretary with gifts of
appreciation. We will be sorry to see John
Hewitt and Judy Bickley leave the
Management Committee after years of hard
work for the Club.
Then it was time to elect the new
Committee for 2024/5. Adrian Brooks took
the Chair for the election process: Ken
McGregor and Will Johns were re-elected
as President and Vice President. Tony
Slattery was elected new Treasurer and
Tonny Jones volunteered from the floor, and
then was elected as Secretary.
The Sub-Committee Co-Ordinators are
appointed by the Management Committee
and all remain in the same positions as last
year.
Before the meeting concluded a motion to
cap the membership numbers was
proposed from the floor and after much
discussion was defeated by 5 votes.
After the meeting closed, most attendees
stayed on for lunch and relaxing chatter.
Thanks to everyone who came to support
the Club at this important annual event.
