She puts an enormous amount of work into producing a very professional newsletter, which reflects well on the club, it provides so much information and comprehensive reports on club activities. She is always seen with her trusty camera collecting great photos at our events. Most recently she has converted the newsletter to a Flip Book style, providing another option and a more pleasurable way for members to read. Thank you, Myra and keep up the good work. I am sure all members thoroughly enjoy the read and look forward to receiving their next edition at the beginning of each month.
Thank you, Myra you are a real asset to the Club and your efforts are really appreciated.
Social Events
Most of 2021 has been very challenging, COVID restrictions have caused us to cancel some events. We did however restart the events as soon as it was possible, taking the necessary steps to ensure compliance with COVID restrictions, we still managed to hold 35 events from July 2020 to June 0221. There are many interesting events planned for the remainder of the year, culminating with our Christmas Party.
Charity Car Show/ Show and Shine 2021
Unfortunately, we found it necessary to postpone our annual Charity Car Show due to the COVID restrictions.
We took a decision that it would have been too difficult manage and comply with the COVID restrictions in force.
We now look forward to confirming the new date as soon as restrictions permit and ensuring that we can again contribute to the Katie Rose Cottage Hospice fundraising efforts.
Distinguished Gentlemen’s Drive:
We are hosting the inaugural Distinguished Gentlemen’s Drive in Noosa. This is being managed by Jack Connolly, Tony Slattery, and John Hewitt.
This event started a few years ago as a Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride for motor bikes, due to the success of this event, it was decided to create an event involving cars and this is the first year that it will be held.
Drives are being run in 41 countries simultaneously and raising money for men’s health.
Eumundi on a Sunday Cruize-In
This year we started a Cars and Coffee event in Eumundi held on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
This is open to anyone not just RCC members and has been well received and supported with growing numbers at each event.
It gives our members and car enthusiasts in general the opportunity to gather and talk cars or whatever is on their minds.
At the last event a group of about 25 RCC members enjoyed breakfast at Bohemian Bungalow at around 9.30 which is when people are starting to leave Eumundi.
It is our hope that once the event is established, we can move it into the terrace part of the Markets and include car related market stalls and a swap meet / boot sale.
New Zealand Trip 2022
Our trip to New Zealand to attend the Art Deco Festival in Napier and Americarna Festival in New Plymouth in February 2022 was originally planned for 2021 but was postponed due to COVID Restrictions.
At this stage it is still on track with all accommodation booked, 20 people are currently registered to attend and 10 spaces are available due to people who originally registered now unable to attend.
We are monitoring COVID and travel Restrictions between NZ and Australia and will confirm whether the trip will still go ahead closer to the date.
End of reports
This meeting now gives you the members the opportunity to democratically elect your Management Committee.
For the Club to continue to thrive it is essential that we have new people getting involved in the running of the Club, if you haven’t this year, please consider offering to assist someone on Committee or nominating for a position next year.
I wish the new Committee all the best for the year ahead and look forward to the continued development of the club.
Remember this is Your Club!
The club for the true “Social Car Enthusiast”
We have 28 drivers already registered and have
raised $5342.00 to date putting us on top of the
DGD leaderboard at present and we have two
drivers, David Hedley-Ward 2nd and Tony Slattery
 3rd of all drivers.
The event is to be held on the 26th September and
whilst drivers are required to have a pre1980 car,
we invite all other members to join in as support
crew and cheer squad and joining in at lunch at the
 final destination.
 The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive is
dedicated to raising funds and awareness for
men's health. Specifically, we and Movember are
working together to combat prostate cancer and
mental health impacting men all around the
world. The funds we raise build vital programs
and fund life-saving research, as we encourage
those close to us to take care of themselves, the
same way we care for our cars.
