   Hello Roadrunners.
Thank you all for attending our third AGM and for being a part of this amazing club.
At this time, I would like to acknowledge those members who, sadly passed away since the last AGM.
Trish Boucher – Wife of Colin Member No. 131
Ken Greenhalgh – Member No. 260 husband to Jenni
Whilst Trish was a well-known character, Ken was a relatively new member, and we offer Colin and Jenni our condolences and any support needed during this difficult time.
May Trish and Ken both rest in peace.
I would like members to know that the Club has a policy, that we offer condolences and provide Flowers on behalf of the members whenever a member or partner passes away as well as offer support if needed.
Report
I am happy to report that after 3 years, the club is in a very strong position, due to its continued growth it is in a very sound position financially and above all, I believe is meeting the aims set out in the club “Mission Statement”, which reads.
“The Mission of the Roadrunner Car Club Inc.”
To provide the opportunity and to promote the social interaction of like-minded motoring enthusiasts of all ages, encourage members and their friends to participate in the social activities and events determined by the members, provide the opportunity for members to use and share their special vehicles and to promote the responsible use of motor vehicles.
This was also confirmed by the Survey of members we carried earlier in the year.
Despite the issues relating to COVID 19 restrictions, I have found being President for the past 3 years, very rewarding, and I am very proud to have had the support of such a great management team, who have all worked very hard to get the club to where it is today, as well as negotiating the COVID 19 restrictions to keep the Club events going wherever possible. They are all doing an exceptional job in their specific roles, thank you.
Thanks particularly, to Vice President Graeme Adams for providing great support to me and being very active in his role.
Thank you also to our Club Ambassador, Malcolm King for his work in promoting the Club, making everyone feel part of the Club and welcoming new members.
It is very satisfying to see the continued growth in membership, the enjoyment being had by members, the new friendships being forged and the support they give to our events.
We are seeing an exceptionally high participation rate, with more than 50% of active members, a great achievement for any club.
Most of the membership growth is coming from referrals and word of mouth, this I believe is evidence that we are providing what people are looking for.
A true enthusiast’s car club, that is friendly, harmonious, and focused on providing social opportunities for members to get together, meet new friends and enjoy their special cars and the camaraderie that this provides without putting constant demands on the members to volunteer their time.
I believe we are all aiming for the same thing, to enjoy the social interaction without any politics or dramas and this should be something we continue to work hard to maintain.
Complaints Procedure: To this end we have now created a Complaints Procedure and it is essential that all members follow this procedure, so that we can quickly and efficiently resolve any issues that may arise. The procedure can be found on the Club website.
Jack Connolly – Retiring Treasurer
Due to personal reasons our current Treasure Jack Connolly, has decided to stand down and take a break.
Jack has been in the role for the last 3 years and is a founding member of the Club.
He has been a very capable Treasurer and brought an enormous amount of experience to the job, he has ensured the Club’s finances are in order and managed on sound financial principles in line with provisions of the Constitution. He has provided up to date financial information and operated a cash flow projection that has ensured the Club is in a sound financial position.
Thank you, Jack, we will miss you and your valuable contribution at our meetings, however your work will now make it much easier for anyone taking on the office of Treasurer in the future. Thank you.
Newsletter Editor
I would like to make special mention of Myra Doyle our Beep Beep magazine Editor. She has become a real asset to the Club working tirelessly to produce a fabulous monthly magazine as well as all the graphic design work she does without complaint.
