51CC 4-6 SPECIAL LIMITED
Madden Jones took the top spot overall in the 51cc 4-6 Special Limited class with 2-1 moto finishes throughout the weekend. Kai Morgan also landed on the podium in both races, finishing 3rd and 2nd just behind Jones in both motos.
The first moto winner, Kevin De Pinho, finished 5th in the second race which was good enough to earn him 3rd overall. De Pinho pulled a 3rd place start in the first moto, but
it didn’t take him long to work his way up to the 1st place spot. He worked his way into the lead on the second lap and stayed there until the checkered flag. Madden Jones started the race around 4th position, just behind De Pinho, and followed him toward the front of the pack as he slotted into 2nd place only one lap into the moto. Kai Morgan was in a closely fought battle with the top two riders throughout the opening laps, temporarily dropping down
to 4th position midway through the race. Morgan was able to regroup and pass Caleb Luttrell for the final podium spot on the penultimate lap and hold on until the checkered flag. In the second moto, Jones pulled the holeshot and never looked back as the Texan charged away at the front of the field and eventually took the checkered ahead of Morgan by a gap of approximately 4 seconds. Morgan didn’t have it as easy as Jones did in the final moto; he had to carve his way through the pack after a mediocre start which put him down in 5th place on the opening lap. Morgan used his incredible pace to work his way into 2nd position
on just the third lap, but that was
as far as he was able to advance. Noxx Lewin found himself in a mid-race battle with Gage Dunham, the two of them trading fast laps in contention for the final podium spot, but ultimately Lewin was able to come out on top. Kevin De Pinho
set the fastest lap of the moto on the second time of trying, but a mistake on the third lap which dropped him back to 9th spoiled his chances of an overall victory. De Pinho was down but not out, he showed undying determination to battle back to a
5th place finish which was enough to salvage an overall podium with a stellar ride through the field.
