MAX VOHLAND
Max Vohland made a name for himself on the national stage with immediate effect back in 2013, scoring a second place overall finish in the 65cc (7-9) class in his first trip to Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. The Californian has accumu- lated four podium finishes, including one national title during the four years that he’s competed at the Amateur National Championship. His most suc- cessful outing came in 2015 when he dominated the 65cc ranks, grabbing the title in the (10-11) Limited class with an additional second place finish in the (7-11) class. 2016 was the first year that the Team Dunlop Elite rider missed out on the overall podium at the Ranch, but it wasn’t because he lacked the speed -- Vohland finished on the podium in three out of six motos that he contested, but a little
bit of poor luck affected his overall results. The Team Dunlop Elite rider has ramped up his consistency in 2017 without compromising any of
his trademark speed or style. He was extremely dominant in both disciplines of racing at Oak Hill, claiming a trio
of number one plates and a duo of second place finishes. Vohland’s exceptional form continued at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship as well as the California Classic, as he never finished off the overall podium in any of the classes that he entered, grabbing two number one plates to boot. His confidence, consistency, and speed appear to be at an all-time high approaching the thirty-sixth running of the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championships -- the Orange Brigade backed youngster earned the King
of the Mountain award at Mammoth, capturing six bears and an AMA title. Vohland has been tearing up the Mini Sr. classification throughout 2017 and he has shown no signs of slowing down, establishing himself one of the favorites to stand on the top of the box at Loretta’s.
