PARKER MASHBURN
One of the most challenging feats faced by those competing in vari-
ous forms of professional motors- ports racing is staying consistent
year after year on the biggest and brightest stage in the sport. Loretta Lynn’s is easily the biggest stage in
all of amateur motocross and Parker Mashburn proved between 2012 and 2014 that he’s capable of withstanding the immense pressure that can only be experienced at the Ranch with an incredibly consistent run of results: a fourth, two fifths, and three sixth place finishes. The Texan also has a second place finish to his name back in 2008 in the 51cc (7-9) class, but unfortu- nate circumstances throughout the summer kept him from producing his normal results at Loretta’s last year. The Orange Brigade backed rider broke his leg at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship and got back
on the bike just in time to qualify for Loretta’s, leaving him underprepared heading into the biggest race of the year. His results reflected his lack of preparation, but Mashburn is looking ready to fight for redemption this year after finding fine form in the middle
of the 2017 racing season. The Troy Lee Design’s / Red Bull / KTM rider made a statement at the Cal Classic with two overall podium finishes and he was able to bring that momentum directly into regionals where he scored a pair of second place finishes.
