KILPATRICK
CASEY COCHRAN
It was only a few short years ago that Casey Cochran was dominating the mini ranks at Loretta Lynn’s, earning two titles in three years between 2013 and 2015. The rider out of Tennessee was no stranger to the top of the box aboard his Cobra ma- chine, but things didn’t go as planned after making the move up to the 65cc class. Af- ter taking a year to adjust and acclimate to the 65cc machine, Cochran seems to have regained his form, gathering a head full of steam moving into the Amateur National Championships in his home state. In addi- tion to his place on the Team Dunlop Elite team, Cochran was plucked by the Factory Suzuki Amateur Support team for the 2017 season, making him one of the new addi- tions to the RM ARMY. He scored a handful of top five finishes at Mini-O’s to help ease his transition into the new season, putting him in the right mindset to tackle the first spring national of 2017 at Millcreek. Co- chran was utterly dominant on his Cobra 65 as well as his RM85, never once finishing off the podium throughout the entire event. He gathered that momentum and carried
it with him to the Daytona RCSX where
he won the number one plate in the 65cc (10-11) class in addition to a third place finish in the 65cc (7-11) class. The Team Dunlop Elite rider continued to impress at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, wrapping up four more overall podiums in
a spectacular week of racing for the rider out of Tennessee. Cochran put together two solid performances at the Underground MX Regionals, punching his tickets to the Ranch in the 65cc (10-11) Limited class as well as the 85cc (9-11) Limited class.
ENZO TEMMERMAN
Enzo Temmerman earned his best result at Loretta Lynn’s during his first ever outing at the Ranch, scoring a fourth place overall in the 51cc (4-6) class. He had a challenging year in 2015, but he had no problem get- ting back on the right track last year with an eighth place finish in the 51cc (7-8) Limited class. It was even more impressive what he was able to do after Loretta’s, claim-
ing the win in the KTM Junior class at the 2016 Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas. Temmerman made the move to the 65cc machine for the 2017 season and immedi- ately established himself as a contender by laying down exceptional results at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship as well
as the California Classic. He scored three overall podiums between both events, including a win in the 65cc (7-9) class in Texas. Temmerman put himself on the map for the big dance at Loretta’s with a win in the 65cc (7-11) class at the Pala Regional in addition to his third place overall in the 85cc (9-11) class. The Californian made one last stop before Loretta’s at Mammoth Mountain and bolstered his confidence with another overall win on the second day of racing, pushing him in the right direction as he heads to the Ranch.
