BROCK PAPI
Brock Papi is one of the newest addi-
tions to the recently formed RM ARMY for 2017. The Pennsylvania native joined the Chaparral Motorsports / Bar X Motorsports / Suzuki Amateur team and his results throughout the season have reflected those of a factory supported rider. He competed in his first major race of the year at the California Classic and went on to lay down one of the most outstanding performances of the event; earning a title in the Open B class as well as a couple of second place finishes in 250 B and 450 B. The Suzuki rider continued his winning ways at Junior- MotoX in May where he put his RMZ250
on the top step in the Schoolboy 2 class, gathering some invaluable confidence heading into the Loretta Lynn’s Regional at Prairie City. Papi took two overall victories and a third place finish as he secured
his position at the Dude Ranch for the thirty-sixth annual running of the Amateur National Championships. The sixteen year- old took another national title at Mammoth Mountain, taking the number one plate
in the B class. The California / Florida resident is in some of the best form of his life heading into the Ranch where he’ll be hoping to add to his podium tally with the first Loretta Lynn’s National Championship of his career.
LOGAN BEST
Logan Best has shown the speed to run with the best of ‘em during the past couple of years of competition at the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championships. His best ever finish came back in 2013 in the 51cc (4-6) Shaft Drive Limited class with a third place, but he proved it was
no fluke one year later by placing fourth overall in the 51cc (7-8) Limited class. The Massachusetts native earned his spot in the top five with the help of a third place moto finish and he backed it up again
last year with a ninth place overall in his first year on the 65cc machine. Best has taken a little bit of time to adapt to the larger bike, but his results throughout the 2017 season thus far have proven that
the adaptation period is long gone. The youngster scored a second place finish in the 65cc (7-11) class at the Daytona RCSX and put his KTM in the top five in the 65cc (10-11) class with a fourth place finish.
His confidence has continued to grow throughout the season as he gets more and more hours in the saddle of his 65, eventually bringing him to a pair of second place finishes at the Gatorback Youth Re- gional. Best seems to make improvements every time he lines up on the gate and it’s unquestionable that he’ll be standing on the podium at Loretta Lynn’s sooner rather than later.
