>> Brand changes have been happening over the past few years for Brandon Scharer, but one thing that hasn’t changed is his abil- ity to be a main event contender. Over previous years we have seen Brandon on old Suzukis on his own dime, to a brief stint
on the small TNT privateer Yamaha team to now being on a well funded privateer effort of K1 Honda racing.
Scharer has been getting more support each year he will be disappointed with his efforts thus far in 2017. Brandon made his first main event of the season in Phoenix and will be looking to keep the ball rolling into Oakland. The #154 was tormented with bad starts all night but the speed was certainly there. He was the 12th fastest 250 qualifier on the day with a 1:05.096 just a mere 0.666 seconds off of the top ten. When the gate dropped in 250 heat #1 Scharer rounded out turn one in 17th. It took a while for a the Honda rider to find his groove, it wasn’t until only two minutes remained in the heat when Brandon seemed to start hitting his marks. @brandonscharer154 got himself within reach of the top
9, Howell, Starling and Commans all went down in the late stages which also helped Brandon and his efforts to make the main event. Scharer got another bad start in the main event and seemed to struggle with the race pace. The confidence of being a main event rider will be with Brandon next weekend, keep an eye out for his progress.
