>> The veteran Kyle Chisholm’s first season aboard a 250 since 2009 has gone well so far. The MotoConcepts Honda rider has been flirting with the top ten in all three races. He has been showing the younger 250 riders the value of being steady and consistent and he looked to continue doing so this weekend in the massive University of Phoenix stadium. Chisholm looked great in practice as he sprinted to the eighth fastest lap time on a very tough course.
That speed in practice could not translate to the start of his heat race as he got going deep in the field. After rounding lap one in tenth, Chisholm picked off one rider for every lap of the race and finished well inside the transfer positions in fifth place. This was arguably the best he’s looked all season as he prepared for the main event.
The Chiz suffered another dreadful start in the main event starting way back in twenty-first. The only good thing that can come from a start like that is that there is nowhere to go but up so that is exactly where he would go. He remained cool, calm and collected and steadily charged through the field of riders. In just seven laps he already sliced and diced up to thirteenth place. He looked very spry but that is about where his charge would stall out as he was only able to pick up one more spot to finish in twelfth place. His third finish inside the top twelve in four tries this year but this one being the most impressive of them all in come from behind fashion.
