>> Zephyrhills, Florida rider Paul Coates had a solid ride in the second heat of the 250 class with a 14th place finish and he was headed for the Last Chance Qualifier. The #65 knew he had to show some grit if he wanted a pearl, and Coates proved that he belonged in the Main with a 4th place finish
in the LCQ. An exhilarated East Coast crowd watched as
the boys lined up for the 250 Main Event. Coates got off to a praiseworthy start, with a position in 16th at the beginning of the race. Unfortunately, front-runner Jordan Smith and Coates came together in the one of many 180-degree turns and Coates went down. Picking himself back up, Paul Coates was able to finish the night and cross the finish line in 19th place.
