>> Mike had his first good race of the season last week at Dallas finishing 13th in the main. Battling the injury bug, Ales- si came to Minneapolis with high hopes. After charging to the front of the pack Alessi fought for 2nd against Dean Wilson
in the beginning of the heat race. As the track deteriorated the Smartop Motoconcepts Racer fell back to 6th position. Mike wouldn’t earn a position in the main event from that race. Heading into the semi qualifier Alessi powered out of the gate right to the front of the pack making himself present in 1st place. Continuing to take advantage of the tight track conditions Alessi gained distance as Bogle crashed behind him. Losing speed in the whoops Malcolm Stewart closed
in and made the pass taking 1st place away from Alessi’s hands. The Honda rider holds onto 3rd place taking a trans- fer position to the main. Main event gate drops and Mike
is mid pack. Hungry for a top ten finish he pushes himself through crowd gaining positions one at a time. Weaving in and out of riders Mike goes on to 10th place passing Stewart on his way. This will be Mike’s best finish of the season as he crossed the finish line earning that 10th position. At this rate Mike Alessi is making progress and will hopefully go on to earn more top ten finishes this season.
