Weaver matched his starting position from the second moto coming around the opening lap of moto number three in eighth place. He once again quickly moved up to fifth but then a lap later got shuffled right back to eighth. With all the inconsistency and chaos in the first two motos, many riders believed they had a chance to win so the intensity was at a very high level. At one point in the race Weaver was even bounced back to ninth but he stayed resilient and realized that he only had three laps left to win a championship. And in those three laps Weaver pushed his way all the way up to fifth and hoped it was enough for the championship... And it was. Miraculously Weaver’s 7-5-5 moto scores were enough to secure him the win.
He tied with Riley Blue in points but Blue finished sixth in the final moto giving Weaver the tiebreaker by a single position. The win for Weaver has to be a huge confidence booster and should surge him forward as he works toward his goal of reaching the top level of the sport.
