When the gate dropped for moto one of 450 B Limited, Fleming rocketed out to the early lead. He immediately began throwing down some quick laps to try and distance himself from the field. He succeeded initially by building a nice four second lead but a bobble late in the race would cause him to lose the lead and fall to second. He would finish there but the race winner, Wyatt Fontenot, would get docked two positions giving Fleming the win by default.
The second moto was a quiet ride for Fleming. He rounded lap one in fourth and maintained that position for the entire race. He couldn’t quite catch
the top three but managed to distance himself from the rest of the pack. He was out there in no mans land but a 1-4 put him one point behind Fontenot who would 3-1 going into the final moto. It was basically a two-man duel for the championship, who ever triumphed over the other would win the title.
Fleming nailed a prime start in the
third moto and quickly gained the lead
by lap two. He had a serious sense of urgency because his rival, Fontenot,
was right in tow. Fleming threw down
the gauntlet and pulled out just a bit on Fontenot. Going into the final lap Fleming had a nice seven-second lead on him and looked to be in complete control. Knowing he had just one lap left to win
a championship, Fontenot let it all hang out in one last ditch effort but would end up going down and finish thirteenth. The championship was all Fleming’s. The title was a huge step in the right direction for him as he is beginning to take steps in the right direction. To go along with his championship, Fleming would also bring home a third in 450 B. It was by far his most successful week at The Ranch.
