His championship bid began in moto one where Bostard rocketed out of the gate and into the early lead. He was running a solid pace and built a small cushion over second place Barry McCarty. However with just two laps to go, McCarty was able to find another gear as Bostard began to wither and make the pass for the lead. Bostard would still hold on for a strong second place finish.
