Jordan Jarvis did exactly what a lot of people expected her to do throughout the week of competition at the Ranch. She made a couple of minor mistakes in the heat of the moment, but she kept her composure and never once finished worse than 2nd position in any of her races. She rode with an incredibly surefooted conviction that she is the best rider on the track by setting fastest lap times and putting her Yamaha up front early. Jarvis battled tooth and nail with Jazzmyn Canfield from Tuesday to Saturday as they traded positions, victories, and shooting glances in the cool down tent. Jarvis was easily the most consistent rider of the entire class throughout the racing, showing incredible fitness to turn close lap times and avoid mistakes on a challenging course. She won the first and third motos of Girls Sr. (12-16) in pretty convincing fashion by showing the rest of the field her fender early on and making it to the podium before most of the other riders even crossed the finish line. The North Carolina native set the fastest lap in the first moto on the second lap just as she passed Jazzmyn Canfield for the lead, and she was fortunate enough to avoid any battling for position in the third moto with a clean holeshot. Canfield started to reel Jarvis in as the clock wound down, but she wasn’t phased by the pressure and managed the gap like a veteran to take the overall victory and another Loretta Lynn’s title.
The Womens 14 plus amateur class was a little more closely contested with battles on track constantly brewing between Jarvis, Canfield, and Kennedy Lutz. Jarvis had the upper hand throughout the week as she made the least amount of mistakes, also getting consistently solid starts which put her in position to grab two moto victories. She worked her way past both Canfield and Lutz in the first moto (albeit Lutz made a mistake while sporting a 5 second gap at the head of the field) and rode on to an easy moto win, as the three of them lapped the entire field. The third moto may have been the easiest one of the entire week for Jarvis as she started in 1st place and finished in 1st place. She had a clear track to run her own race and set scolding lap over 3 seconds faster than any of her rivals. Jarvis had her Yamaha out front in the second moto as well, but an unlikely mistake allowed Canfield to get past her in the middle of the race. She didn’t have the time to fight her way back up to the lead, but she was able to salvage valuable points and clinch her second title of the week in fairly dominant fashion.
