With rain completely drenching the Tennessee race course, Cantrell looked to be in unfamiliar territory, but
would hold his composure for the first round of 250 A. Slamming through the gearbox off the start line, Cantrell quickly latched on to Missouri’s Bradley Taft, and proceeded to trail the scent of the Yamaha pilot. Lap after lap, he would remain at bay, although just let- ting the number 19 slip away by moto’s end; he would go on to finish second. Moto two saw the Murrieta native in fifth off the jump, but a mishap on lap three would cost him dearly. He would rally, setting his fastest lap of the moto at the white flag, and finish seventh. The third and final race of the division, moto three casted Cantrell into the fourth place spot on lap two. An absolute devastating mistake would shove the young competitor to the back of the field, and force him to dig his way through the fastest pro am’s in the country. He would come back to finish 15th, and seventh overall.
