With the sky unleashing its might along the Tennessee landscape prior to the first 25+ moto, races were delayed multiple hours in order to get the track in a functional state. Like previously mentioned, Ward has put the time in throughout his career, and experienced every type of situation possible prior to the gatedrop,
and it showed. With tearoffs littering the racetrack, appearing as though a flock of birds had just been plucked of their feathers, it was Ward who emerged second, trailing former amateur phenom, Austin Stroupe. After feeling a tad bit of heat from both Michael Stryker and Michael Byrne throughout the moto, Ward would remain composed and bring home that mystic silver medallion.
