As moto one started, the match was lit when Bogle got out of the gate first, leading the entire field to the holeshot
line by mere inches. The lead was over before it even began, though, as Barcia had removed Bogle of his duties
by the time the crowd had entered turn two abruptly. In the classic first-lap shuffle, Bogle was pushed back to 6th before begin- ning the dreaded movement backwards that ensued for a majority of the moto. Near the halfway point, Bogle lost 7th to Pourcel, then 8th to Baggett and then 9th to Musquin. As the middle section of the moto appeared to be Bogle’s weakness, Justin dropped three more spots to 12th before putting the moto back on its feet. It happened quickly, but in the final moments of the race, Bogle had regained 11th in getting around Fredrick Noren and reached 10th after picking up a spot, exploiting the misfortune of Phil Nicoletti who dropped out late in the race. With a top ten moto already under his belt, Bogle was disappointed with his moto one result but didn’t let the frustration get the best of him
as the #19, again, got out of the gate in the top five, holding down 3rd for the first few laps of the race. With the top five pace blazing, Bogle dropped to Tickle and Barcia by the end of lap five, residing in 5th until lap eight. It was then that the strong performance of Bisceglia got the best of Justin, pushing Bogle to 6th. With a pack of wolves behind him, it didn’t take long for Justin to fall back to 9th as Pourcel, Baggett and Musquin made their way by. It was there that Bogle would hold out for the remainder of the race, again putting the sophomore inside the top ten, earning him a 9th overall. Now, with six rounds left, Bogle sits 9th in the standings behind the absent Ryan Dungey and will make a strong push for 8th in Southwick next weekend.
