Jesse’s morning started off well in Michigan. The bold #63 shined bright as he put in some quick laps early. In the second practice, Jesse was running a very impressive 12th fastest for most of the session. He ended up with the 21st fastest time and set his focus on the racing. Jesse got off to a great start in the first moto and was running a commendable 12th place on the second lap. He started to shuffle back
quickly as he was battling the rough Michigan soil. With about twenty minutes left on the clock, Jesse was running 17th place. With a little bit more than halfway to go, he was doing everything he could to hold a top twenty position. Jesse was sitting in 22nd with one lap to go and it seemed he was ready to go back to the pit and regroup for moto two. When the next gate dropped, Jesse didn’t get the best jump and did his best to salvage a top thirty position by the end of lap two. He began making some passes and looked to be determined to make up the positions lost in the start. As they neared the halfway point, Jesse had made his way all the way up to 21st place and was still charging hard. He made another pass and secured a top twenty posi- tion with three laps to go. With one lap to go, he made one more pass and was able to take home 19th place for 21st overall at Redbud.
