Kenny was eager to continue his dominance in Pennsylvania and it was clear he was confident in his ability. He qualified 5th fastest but knew he would be 1st fastest when the gate dropped. When 450 Moto 1 began, Kenny got off to a typically great jump and was able to come around the first corner on the inside with a commanding holeshot. Ken started to put down solid laps and was doing everything he could to pull away from the equally fast Tomac who was right on his tail. Eli hit the ground on the second lap and Roczen continued to put the hammer down. He would continue to consistently put down laps that were 2 to 3 seconds faster than the rest of the pack. With 15 min left on the clock, the deep Pennsylvania track tried to pull Kenny down but he was able to save it and maintain his rapidly growing 15 second lead.
