Arnaud Tonus looked smooth in practice and put in a quick time early at the Mt. Morris facility. He qualified a
solid tenth going into the motos and set his focus on the gate drop. Arnaud got off to a decent start in 250 moto one and was sitting in 10th place by the end of the first lap. He had his teammate right in front of him and put down solid laps to stay there. About halfway through the moto, Tonus found some speed and was able to make a charge where he passed multiple riders including teammate Cianciarulo. Unfortunately the deep and rough Pennsylvania track would prove to beat up on Tonus as mistakes dropped him back to 8th by the time the checkers flew. In the second moto, Arnaud got a bad jump and found himself eating roost throughout the first lap. He fought hard to make some quick passes but he had a lot of work to do if he wanted to make it into the top 15. After five laps, Arnaud had made his way into the top 20 and was eager to charge further forward. With Jordon Smith in toe, Tonus had some pressure to move up through the pack and he was able to steadily pick some guys off. With ten minutes left on the clock, He was sitting 17th and made a pass on the smoking Yamaha
of Jeremy Martin for 16th. Tonus eventually got passed by the hard charging Smith behind him but would latch on to the back of him. Tonus made a few more passes with just a few minutes to go and ended up with a 14th place finish in the second moto. With his first moto score of
8th, it was good enough for 12th overall in Pennsylvania.
