Jonah Geistler bested his 2015 RCSX effort this year by qualifying directly out of his heat race with a 12th place finish. He started mid-pack and found himself in 12th place at the end of lap one where he battled with Brandon Hugney and Justin
Rodbell. He wasn’t able to tack on to the rear fender of Rodbell who moved his way through the pack and eventually gave way to eventual main event winner Joe Shimoda. Geistler made a last lap pass on Hugney to
take the 12th spot and put his KTM in the main event. Unfortunately, he was a part of the first corner mayhem and crossed the finish line on the first lap in 25th position, 15 seconds behind the leader. He was able to make his way by Jake Tricco on the 2nd lap and hold onto 24th for a couple of laps. The next couple of laps, he made his way
by the Yamaha duo of Brandon Wolfe and Rush Chapman and finished off the day in 21st place. Although it’s an improvement on his failure to qualify from last year, Jonah would have been hoping for a top ten finish to help carry positive momentum into the Spring Nationals.
