AUSTIN FORKNER
Juice? Did somebody say juice? If so, then look no further, Austin Forkner has it and he squeezes every ounce out of his #214 Team Green/Monster Energy Kawasaki. The “Farm Boy” from Richards, Missouri has been seen on numerous occasions as the “future” of the professional ranks. Whether through Instagram posts of recognized industry brands, the mouths of racing legends or through
the eyes of his competitors, Forkner is impressive. If you don’t follow the #214 rider on Instagram, he posted a video Sunday morning after practice for the Ricky Carmichael Supercross event that showed Forkner’s lack of fear. It was a line that no pro’s completed during the races of the Saturday Night Daytona SX, a small sign of the actual abilities of Austin and his highly-acclaimed speed. Peering at the past, this kid has 39 championships over the course of the last 10 years, dating back to 2006. 39! More recently, Forkner has been traveling the Amsoil Arenacross Circuit, gaining the needed points to enter the professional circuit later this year.
So far, through the two events he’s entered, Forkner has taken home a 1st and a 4th in the premier Arenacross class. Possibly some foreshadowing of what we all will have the opportunity of seeing as he continues on through his career. Literally, there isn’t a way of speaking too highly of the Kawasaki rider. An impressive showing this weekend could only help solidify his already solidified future within the racing scene. Don’t be surprised if this kid is a future red plate holder or possibly a prospective representative of America at a Motocross of Nations event. No matter what the future holds, Austin Forkner and Team Green have had the success that the kid inside us could only hope for. With his amateur career nearing its end, here’s a toast to the inspiration Forkner has instilled in racers across the world and also to the bright future he has waiting for him. Keep an eye on the #214, chances are, it’ll be up front.
