Now in 5th place, there was nothing left for Forkner but to try and make a charge. The gap proved to be too big, as 5th is where Forkner finished. As good as that is, the Monster
Energy/Team Green Kawasaki, I’m sure, was unsatisfied. With the Open Pro Sport class next up for the A class riders, Forkner had one last opportunity to end the weekend on a positive note. Set for one more struggle,
all the top 5 finishers of the All-Star moto lined up for the Open Pro Sport with one last statement to make. Forkner, the fan favorite, coming off his worst moto of the weekend might have had the biggest statement to make. When the gate dropped, the front was filled with familiar faces, with McAdoo and Forkner in your top two spots respectively. Fighting hard for 7 laps, it wasn’t till lap 8 that Forkner pushed himself in front of the 812 bike and finished once more atop the podium. Three classes, two wins and three top 5’s, it’s no wonder that forkner has been labeled the “Future” of our sport. Although I can’t wait to see him battle with the pro’s on Saturday night, I’m excited to see how many more Championships Forkner will get on the Amateur Circuit. If you didn’t realize it, that’s number 41.
